The match that the Ultimate fighting Championship has deemed “The Biggest Heavyweight Battle in History,” is less than a week away.
That means it is time for the UFC 116: Lesnar vs. Carwin Countdown show on SPIKE TV to showcase the training camps of UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar and Colorado’s own UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion Shane Carwin. 
The show premieres at an unusually early 5 p.m. MDT so be sure to set your DVR’s if you will still be working or eating dinner.
Expect to see the battle of words heat up between Lesnar and Carwin as Lesnar continues to carry his entertainment background from professional wrestling into the octagon. This match was scheduled to happen two different times as early as November 2009 and now that Lesnar is healthy Carwin will finally get his chance to prove he is perhaps the best heavyweight in the world –now with Fedor Emelianenko’s stunning first round submission loss to Fabricio Werdum this past Saturday in Strikeforce.
Carwin will be on camera displaying the hard work that goes into preparing for a fight, especially of this magnitude, and you will see him training alongside fellow Colorado-born heavyweight Brendan Schaub, who will also be fighting at UFC 116 against Chris Tuchscherer, as well as Denver great Nate Marquardt and light heavyweight contender Rashad Evans.
Carwin’s coach, Trevor Wittman should see a lot of camera time on the countdown as he trains Carwin at Grudge Training Center and famed head-trainer Greg Jackson may also make an appearance.
